Carpet is still the fastest way to change how a house feels. It is warm underfoot, it swallows noise in a two-storey home, and in a bedroom it is the product most people still want. The difference between a carpet that looks tired in three years and one that still looks new is almost always the underlay and the stretch — both of which are on us, not the showroom.
Narangba filled out through the 2000s, so most of what we see is slab-on-ground with open-plan living and three or four bedrooms. The floors going in now are the second set — the original builder-grade carpet and tile has done its twenty years and people are moving to hybrid or loose lay through the living zone with fresh carpet in the bedrooms.
